I shot this image waiting to cross a busy street under the Yamanote tracks near Ameyoko. I’m sure the lighting makes this dude look more ominous than he really is. The kila, or ritual dagger, tucked into his belt doesn’t help his cause.

Tokyo Redux – Hotel Okura
The Hotel Okura is a world-renowned hotel in downtown Tokyo near Roppongi. Built in 1962, it has a classic modern style while retaining the elegance of Japanese design. Note the number of the chairs and lights is five, an auspicious number in Buddhism.
