How To Support Us – A Visual Walkthrough

First of all, thank you for your desire to support our ministry in Japan which has probably led you to this page. It is no cliche to say that we could not do this without the many people who have a passion to serve God in many ways, including financial giving. We know it is a sacrifice for you to give to support us, but I hope you also realize that the Lord is using your gifts in manifold ways to bless the people of Japan.

For those of you like me who learn better through visualization, I have created this walkthrough to help guide you through the process of signing up to support our ministry through JEMS. The first thing you will have to do is get to the JEMS website. If you click on the link below, it should open the JEMS website on a new tab in your browser, so you can switch easily back and forth between these directions and the site itself. Ready? Click below!

JEMS Website

Now that you have made it to the JEMS website, you’ll have to find the support page. It is the link in the upper right corner of the page, on the menu.

SJEMS

Once you are on the Support JEMS page, you’ll have a list of possible ways you can support JEMS. For the sake of simplicity, let’s focus on the three you are most likely to use, Credit/Debit card support , Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT), or good old mail-in checks.

SOM

If you plan on using your credit or debit card to support us, Click on the link called “Donate Now”. This isn’t the preferred method by JEMS as they incur a transaction fee when people use this method, but if it is the method you are most comfortable with, please use it. If you do use this link, scroll down this page to the section called Donate Now for more detailed instructions.

If you plan on using Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT), you’ll need to fill out a form, which you can download by clicking on “Ministries and Support Raising Staff List”. EFT is basically a bank transfer between your bank account and JEMS. Since you don’t need to remember to write a check every month, this can be convenient for busy people. Once you download and print the form, you simply need to fill it out and mail it back to JEMS. They will contact you to complete the setup of your EFT.

If you simply want to send a check to JEMS  monthly, quarterly or whatever interval suits you, you can also do that. The address for JEMS is:

JEMS, 948 East Second Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Please DO NOT write our name anywhere on the check, but instead, you should write our purpose code in the memo: 65872

Donate Now

This section is for those who intend to use their credit or debit card to support us. There are some additional steps with some confusing menus, so I have included some screen shots to help walk you through these.

When you click on Donate Now, you’ll get to a screen that doesn’t have any reference to who or what you are donating to. You’ll have to select us using two menus. First, click on the empty box in the upper left under Category and Funds and select “Japanese International Ministry”

JIM

Now, a second empty box appears under the box filled in with Japan International Ministry. Click on that empty box and find our names, “Todd and Jayne Fong”.

T&J

Next you will fill in the amount of your support. You will have to pre-determine the interval you wish to give support, though if you’re open to feedback, we prefer either monthly or quarterly support for budgeting purposes. Click on Add for now; you’ll be asked about the interval further down the page.

The rest of the form should be self-explanatory, but let me know if you have any further issues and I will try to help you.

  1. Dear Todd and Jayne,
Thank you for your presentation at Crossway Sunday School that was so clearly communicated. How wonderful that God has called you to gird those that are already in the mission field. What do you call those that serve the servant? We will be praying for you and the family as you make this transition. With much thanks for your faithfulness.
