My name is Todd Fong and I am the former Executive Director of World Christian Fellowship. If you’ve never heard of WCF, you’re probably not alone, but now that you have, you should really check it out. Serving with WCF completely changed my life. Too trite to be true? Read the next sentence, friend.
In the summer of 2014, my family and I relocated to Tokyo, Japan to share the love of Jesus with the people of Japan through an organization called JEMS. It is because of great organizations like WCF that connect, encourage and most of all pray for people like me that enabled us to take this step of obedience and move overseas.
The purpose of this blog is to share our experience and thoughts about ministry to the Japanese. Though we’ve been on several short term missions to Japan and have a lot of experience and knowledge about Japan and its culture, I am the first to admit that everything I know doesn’t begin to cover the complexity of the cultural and spiritual landscape of Japan. There are many faithful people who have lived decades in Japan doing ministry and still admit there is much for them to learn. So please consider me as just another student of Japanese culture and spirituality, a fellow sojourner on a long journey to know the unknowable.
I’m also a photographer and yes, most of the photos on this blog have been taken by me. If there are any that are not, I promise to clearly identify them. You can check out more of my work at www.toddfong.com.
