We had the privilege of visiting Skytree only a couple of months after it opened, when the tickets would sell out weeks in advance. Though it’s probably not such a hot spot anymore, it is certainly an instant icon, built in a neighborhood where the tallest of buildings reaches only its knees. However, at its completion it was only the second tallest building in the world, which must mean plans are already in the works for a taller building somewhere else in Tokyo.
